Eligible Entries

• Entrants must be over the age of 15 and under the age of 29.

• Entrants must be an Australian resident – though the focus of the competition is based on the Victorian charter of human rights, Victorian residency is not a requirement

• Essay entries must be in English

• Film must either be in English or have English subtitles

Judging Criteria

• This is a competition of skill. Chance plays no part in determining the award recipients.

• The results are final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Submission

• Multiple entries may be made.

Film rules

• Films may be up to five minutes in length.

Film Classification

• Film entries will be subject to review and approval for screening by the Office of Film and Literature Classification. It is in their discretion to refuse permission to screen the film, and their decision is final. Accordingly, Vibewire advises that films that are overly offensive or contain gratuitous violence or sexual content may not be screened, in accordance with the guidelines of the Office for Film and Literature Classification. Material in the film

• Vibewire reserves the right in its absolute discretion to not screen films that do not have the requisite licenses for use of copyrighted material within the film.

Writing Rules

• Writing must be in the form of a personal essay.

• The word limit is 1000 words.

• As it is not an academic essay, the essay may be as creative as the entrants wish to make it. There is no need for referencing or a bibliography.

Podcast Rules

• Podcast must be between two and four minutes in length.

Design Rules

- Design maybe created by any visual media.

- As the winning design will end up on an Avante Card, designs must be postcard size (Trim size 101mm x 151mm + 3mm bleed)

- Keep all text within 5mm of the trim to avoid text being cut off

-Image resolution must be 300dpi or higher.

- Designs must not contain images, which constitute a breach of copyright of a third party.
