Response to WOW - a poem

Born along the Hunter in 1828

The cork popped and as the bottle tipped

The first Aussie wine filled a glass

From those first grapes a whole industry grew

Supplying the nation for much celebration

And the ones that arrived from far away shores

Were no match for our very own concoction

And red or white, sweet or dry

Screw top, cork or cask

At dinner for two or party for more

We all have our own favourite blend
