Riding on the theme of "Peace In The Park", the annual shindig that is Homebake promises to deliver the best aurally pleasing event yet.

Australia is home to a lot of scrumptious baked goods: lamingtons, meat pies, pavlova, peach melba... but nothing tickles the fancy of a musical foodie quite like the inaugural Homebake Festival. This year’s event is set to hit The Domain, Sydney on Saturday December 6th, and the line-up is one of the best yet.

Headlining the annual tradition, the iconic Crowded House return to Australian shores after performing to packed venues in Europe, the UK, as well as this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Sneaky Sound System bring an electrical vibe to the festivities alongside Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicolson. Adding to the danceable vibe PNAU, Cut Copy and Infusion provide some curiously addictive tunes to the seasoned festival goer, while teen sensation Gabriella Cilmi serves up her brand of soul, punk and blues at her first ever festival performance in Australia.

Sydney misfits The Vines ride the Homebake train on the back of their latest record Melodia, promising a downright exhilarating performance. The ever pervasive You Am I will play alongside alternative rockers Sparkadia, while British India are set to play their umpteenth Homebake crowd as they take on familiar territories. Little Red release their tunes of holding hands and oddly seductive monogamy, while Bliss n Eso fly the Australian hip-hop flag at the annual shindig.

The theme for Homebake 2008 is “Peace In The Park”, supported by Amnesty International. Encompassing the theme of cultural acceptance and political freedom, the event hopes to deliver a growing appreciation of unity and peace. They don’t say “music is a universal language” for nothing!

Tickets for the over 18s event go on sale Monday August 18 at 9AM through Ticketek and the official Homebake website.

The full line-up so far includes Crowded House, Kasey Chambers and Shane Nicolson, Sneaky Sound System, Gabriella Cilmi, Sparkadia, PNAU, Infusion, Cut Copy, The Vines, Died Pretty, British India, You Am I, Blue Juice, The Getaway Plan, Little Red, Bliss n Eso, Headless Chickens, The Potbelleez, Karnivool, Bag Riders, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, Drapht, Pegz, Snob Scrilla, Dash and Will, plus more to be announced.
