In a double billing and a new single off their latest album, Gyroscope embark on the tour to end all tours.

The West Coast can be thanked for breeding the likes of Birds of Tokyo, Sleepy Jackson, and of course, AC/DC's Bon Scott into the musical landscape. Perth band Gyroscope sit comfortably with the aforementioned as they get set to embark on an epic 36-date tour of Australia - quite fitting considering their latest single aptly titled Australia.

Set to be released on July 12, Australia can look to be a different take on their old-school tunes, with the acoustic opening drawing into a strings and marching band ensemble. Gyroscope front man Daniel Sanders explains the essence of the track is a lyrical dedication to the land itself.

"I’ve always had a connection with the indigenous community and having never been up into this region before, the beauty of the land revealed itself to me and I realised the powerful interaction between the land and the community," he says. "I guess that was the trigger that made me actually put something down, seeing and spending time with that part of our country inspired me. Lyrical inspiration then came from the heart and felt relatively easy and just felt right to me."

On their tour of the country, Gyroscope are accompanied by New Zealand band Shihad, a name (or names - Pacifier?) we've grown to love and adore. Famed for their signature brand of punk metal, Shihad have long been adopted by local audiences for their electrically-charged shows. Sugar Army round out the biller for each show. Perth fans however, enjoy a very special triple billing as Jebediah unleash their gorgeous power pop melodies on stage for the first time in over 10 years.

Tickets go on sale via Ticketek and www.gyroscope.com.au on THURSDAY 26 JUNE.
